After you’ve set up your account and started trading for other ERC-20 tokens, you may be ready to dive into the Metaverse a bit more and start looking into custom tokens.

<aside> ⛔ Before interacting with an unfamiliar token, it’s important that you do your due diligence on the reputation of the project. For example, ask yourself: How long has the token been around? Are there only a handful of accounts holding a majority of the tokens?

There are a couple of ways you can import tokens to your wallet:

Add tokens from Etherscan

  1. Open your browser and go to Etherscan.
  2. Search for your custom token.
  3. Once you have found the token contract address in Etherscan, under Profile Summary > More, you can Add Token to MetaMask (Web3). https://etherscan.io/token/0xaf5191b0de278c7286d6c7cc6ab6bb8a73ba2cd6 for STG Token

Alternatively, if this does not work, try the following:

  1. Find and copy the token’s contract address.
  2. Go back to your wallet.
  3. Select “Add token” and add a custom token using your token’s contract address. MetaMask will automatically update the token symbol and tokens of precision.

Your custom token will appear in your wallet.
